Cathy Martin

Cathy Martin

I am a mixed-media artist and I enjoy working in a variety of mediums including oil, watercolor, charcoal, agate and glass.

My greatest love is painting. I like to create trophies in oil, and I often work from favorite photographs of specific people, animals and places. While I’m happy to do custom art for you from your favorite photograph or memory, I reserve the right to compose the setting to suit my vision.

I have painted several series in watercolor and oil. Please see Cathy’s Kansas Series and Cathy’s Campus Series.

I also enjoy painting murals. When painting murals I use acrylics. Please see examples on Cathy’s Murals.

For portraits, charcoal is my favorite medium, but I will utilize whatever medium you choose. I have examples of portraits in oil, watercolor and charcoal on this website for you to peruse in order to help you make the choice that’s best for you. I aim to please. Please see examples on Cathy’s Portrait Gallery.

Are you looking for something unique? I create pieces with broken pieces of mirror, what I call “random mosaics in Glass”, where no piece is cut deliberately to fit a space but chosen from many pieces like a jigsaw puzzle. Please see examples of these in Cathy’s Creations in Mixed Media.

Kansas winter throws me into jewelry and tree ornamentation mode. Long nights, warm lap blankets and trays of beads.  Coming soon, please see examples of my jewelry and tree ornaments at Cathy’s Jewelry and Cathy’s Tree Ornaments Gallery.

I enjoy working with agate. Much of my jewelry is made from agate. Other art I create from agate includes: wind chimes and window hangings, candle shades and lamp shades. Please see examples of my work in agate at Cathy’s Creations in Mixed Media.

As you can see, I like to diversify and keep busy. Please contact me with your vision and I’ll create something special just for you!
